Finally getting to share our second part of our Disney family trip! Seems like we are always traveling or on the road to somewhere…But I LOVE it and wouldn’t change it for the world! I’m here in New York writing this post about Disney and I love that work brings me to new locations. Meeting new people, exploring, having grand adventures and teaching my son all about the world around us through travel is what life is all about to me! Also, being able to teach August about nature and all the magical animals in this world is a priority for me. I love being able to see the wonder in his eyes as he learns and discovers new creatures.
Here are a few pics from our Disney Family Trip at the Animal Kingdom – Such a beautiful place!
We loved exploring Disney’s Animal Kingdom Safari on our Disney family trip, even though the lines were insanely long! The beautiful open space the creatures roam in is something out of The Lion King. Speaking of the Lion King- The stage show was AMAZING! We watched both the Lion King and Finding Dory and August LOVED both! He sat at the edge of his seat clapping, laughing and smiling from ear to ear. A proud moment for mommy that he also shares a passion for the arts.
After we did both shows, we rode some of the roller coasters before it started raining. The storm that came in was so bad that it shut down all the rides due to lightning. We were waiting in line for the Kali River Rapids when the storm hit and luckily we were under the covered area, so we were able to hide out and stay dry. We waited quite a long time for the ride to open back up, so long that it was already dark outside. But, we actually were able to get back on the ride and ride it at night time which made it even more fun! August was with us and I can’t believe the little guy was not scared! He LOVED it! It was a pretty big ride for such a little guy. They even put him in a special seat for young ones but he wasn’t fazed! He’s a daredevil for sure!
Animation Hotel- because you know we couldn’t leave without seeing McQueen!
If you’re a mom of a little boy, like I am then you most likely are familiar with McQueen or maybe you can recite every word from all the Cars films cause your son’s obsession of the Cars film series is on another level! Well, you can imagine my dismay when we found out that Disney moved the Cars exhibit to their Animation Hotel. We of course had to make a special trip just so we got to see all of the characters from the film! We actually were not allowed to leave Disney till August got a chance to hug McQueen and climb on all the cars.
Just a little glimpse into real life – August was so overwhelmed from our entire trip that he had a total meltdown when we had to pack up and leave. I wanna say it’s cause he didn’t want to leave, but in reality he was probably just exhausted from the 4 days of ultimate fun during our Disney family trip. So while these pics may show him having a grand time – he was a total disaster 2 minutes later. I wish I would have grabbed the photo of real life but we were so embarrassed by his meltdown that we rushed out of there in a hurry to get him to the car to calm him down- and of course as soon as the car started moving the kid fell asleep so we know exhaustion was the culprit of his meltdown. Definitely would recommend a visit for the kids who love the Cars movies! and Hopefully next time we will get to stay here so he can get the full experience!
