Hey buddies! Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA! The world has been spinning a bit out of control with all the Earthquakes, Hurricanes, fires and tragedy after tragedy. I have turned into a recluse focusing on my family and loved ones. So my time to blog was put on hold to focus on the real important stuff. But not all was bad in the last month, we did get to take a much needed child-free vacation with my hubby to Italy for a friend’s wedding. Which I will share here in a bit. SO, check back for that! But now that I am able to return to the norm, get back to our never ending home construction and a bit of fun decorating for the holidays with these Halloween decor ideas! Like I previously mentioned, we are up to our ear in construction with the bottom floor of our house completely gutted, as we rework the floor plan of our house and build a brand new kitchen. Even with all this construction and crazy mess I wanted August to still enjoy all the fun of the holidays! So we have decorated the exterior for Halloween and I decided to create a fun and festive fireplace mantel display with a bug lab display of the creep crawlers! So check out these fun Halloween decor ideas for our mantel!
The mantel I covered in fake spider webs that looks super realistic! and the best part is it only cost a dollar from the Dollar Tree!
The jars idea I saw from an article in Family Circle Magazine which I recreated with jars we already had in our house. Print out bugs off the internet and place them in the jars with your kids for a fun family craft night. August and I had a great time talking about each bug, what they are called, and he really wanted to know which ones bite and which do not. (of course!) 😀
I made this sign that says (Well behaved children welcome! The rest will be turned into pies) off of Picmonkey.com. They have great templates and really fun overlays and fonts for signage for your Halloween decor ideas! (this is not an ad for them) I’m just sharing what is easy for me to use and if it helps someone else, I’m happy to share the creative process.
